3D Printer Filament FDM filament, photopolymer resin and accessories — selection guide and factory-direct supply

Consumables decide yield and long-run cost. Kunshan 3D Seeker focuses on polymer FDM filament, supported by high-performance photopolymer resin and modified compound pellets. Our 4,000 m² lab and production facility runs ten lines, supplying distributors, cross-border sellers and factories with stable batches.

Three families of3D printing consumables

Different printing processes use entirely different consumables. Getting the category right first saves a lot of trial and error on parameters and cost.

FDM filament

The most widely used family, mainly 1.75mm. PLA, PLA+, ABS+, PETG and TPU, plus silk, glow, marble and dual-colour effects.

From CNY 27/kg

Photopolymer resin

For SLA / DLP / LCD machines: high resolution and smooth surfaces. Water-washable grades reduce odour and post-processing.

Accessories

Water-soluble PVA support, dry boxes and desiccant, bed sheets, nozzles and hot-end parts — small items that keep output stable.

Quality Checkpoints

Four things to verifybefore bulk purchase

  • Diameter tolerance: within ±0.02mm, monitored inline by laser gauges. Larger variance causes unstable extrusion, jams and breakage.
  • Moisture and packaging: vacuum bag and desiccant must be intact. Damp filament produces popping, bubbles and stringing, and yield collapses.
  • Batch consistency: colour and flow variation between batches is the leading cause of returns in cross-border sales. In-house compounding keeps the spread small.
  • Spool winding: neat layers without crossed strands. Poor winding jams mid-print and costs both material and machine time.

We retain samples from every batch with recorded process parameters. Customers can request diameter, moisture content and a printed test coupon for incoming inspection.

TechnologyIn-house formulations, imported core-component equipment, high-value recycling of low-cost plastics
Cost position30%+ cost advantage versus comparable products, stable pricing for long-term supply
ChannelsOwn stores on Taobao, Temu, JD and Pinduoduo, plus B2B distribution and export supply
CustomisationPrivate label, printed boxes, colour and effect matching, English labels and barcodes
BackingSupported by the Tongji University sub-fund of Shanghai Technology Entrepreneurship Fund and the Kunshan innovation talent programme

For distributors and cross-border sellers we recommend a small trial order first to validate yield and packaging fit, then move to rolling monthly replenishment instead of large single stock commitments.

Storage

Storage anddrying guidance

  • Unopened: keep the vacuum bag intact, away from light and heat; room temperature is fine.
  • Opened: sealed container with desiccant, humidity below 40% RH.
  • Before use: PLA at 55 °C for 8 hours; PETG and TPU are more moisture-sensitive and benefit even more.
  • Signs of moisture: popping sounds, surface bubbles and noticeably increased stringing.
FAQ

Filament sourcingquestions

What types of 3D printer filament do you supply?

Three families: FDM filament (PLA, PLA+, ABS+, PETG, TPU, plus silk, dual-colour, glow and marble effects); photopolymer resin for SLA/DLP/LCD machines such as water-washable resin; and accessories including water-soluble PVA support, dry boxes, desiccant and nozzles.

How do I choose filament for a given application?

Display models and prototypes: PLA or silk PLA. Impact-resistant or outdoor parts: PETG or ABS+. Flexible, abrasion-resistant parts: TPU 95A. Fine detail and smooth surfaces: photopolymer resin. Classrooms and consumer use: PLA for low odour and safety.

What should I check before buying filament in bulk?

Four points: diameter tolerance within ±0.02mm, intact vacuum packaging and low moisture content, batch-to-batch colour and flow consistency, and neat spool winding without crossed strands. These four drive yield and return rates more than price does.

Can you supply cross-border e-commerce sellers?

Yes. We run our own stores on Taobao, Temu, JD and Pinduoduo, so we understand export packaging and compliance. We provide English labels, barcodes, carton specifications and private-label service, from trial orders to repeat bulk supply.

How should filament be stored?

Keep unopened spools vacuum-sealed. After opening, use a sealed container with desiccant and keep humidity below 40%. PLA is moderately moisture-sensitive; PETG and TPU more so. Dry at 55 °C for 8 hours before use if in doubt.
